Eliminating Identity Impersonation in Security Staff Attendance

Arinco Technology is a Mexico-based software development company that designs, builds, and maintains custom applications and technology solutions for real-world business operations.

The company serves multiple industries, including private security, logistics, financial services, agriculture, retail, and human resources.

Arinco currently has 18+ proprietary systems in operation, developed to digitize and optimize complex business processes.

Arinco’s client, a security services company, needed a reliable way to verify that security guards were physically present for their assigned shifts.

Its existing manual process was inefficient and, more importantly, allowed guards to clock in or be marked present on behalf of their colleagues.

To solve this, Arinco decided to integrate face recognition into a mobile application for attendance tracking. The project also had to meet several technical requirements:

• Reliable offline verification: The system needed to perform biometric verification directly on the mobile device without relying on a constant internet connection.

• Spoofing prevention: Attendance verification had to confirm that the person in front of the camera was a live person, rather than a photo, video replay, or 2D/3D mask.

• Android integration: The biometric functionality had to be integrated smoothly into the client's existing mobile attendance application and workflow.

Arinco chose 3DiVi Face SDK to add face recognition and liveness detection to an Android mobile application for security staff attendance verification.

The SDK detects faces, verifies that the person checking in matches the authorized security guard, and confirms that they are physically present at the time of verification.

The entire biometric workflow runs directly on the mobile device, allowing the solution to operate offline without relying on a cloud service or a continuous internet connection.

An ESL license tied to the application ID allows 3DiVi Face SDK to be deployed directly within the client's mobile application.

“The implementation went very well,” recalls Axel Vera. “We always had 3DiVi's support at every stage of the project, which made it possible to move through mobile app design, integration, and testing smoothly and address any issues as soon as they came up.”

The solution eliminated identity impersonation in the client's attendance and shift assignment process.

Guards could no longer clock in or be assigned on behalf of another employee, giving the client confidence that every recorded attendance event and shift assignment corresponded to the actual person present on site.

The success of the project also extended beyond the original attendance use case. After seeing the results of the biometric solution, the security company asked Arinco to expand the system into a broader personnel management platform covering payroll and other operational processes.

What started as a single facial-recognition attendance solution has since grown into a much broader engagement covering the client's core HR and operations systems.

“The system we built can now be extended to other companies that need to manage employee attendance and role assignment,” explains Axel Vera. “That gives Arinco a repeatable, scalable solution and the potential to turn it into a new, ongoing revenue stream built on top of 3DiVi's technology.”
